Amarillo has had many things that have come and gone.  Some were good, some were bad.  However, here are 10 things we would love to see back in Amarillo.

7-11

I remember back in the day, Amarillo had 7-11s.  I miss being able to get a Slurpee or a Big Gulp.

The Blue Light

Amarillo only had this gem for a few years. 1/2 of it was a daiquiri bar with the best White Russian daiquiris around.  The other 1/2 was just a great place to go and hear some of the best Texas Country music.  It was a fun place to hang out, downtown on the weekend.

Char-Kel

Best burgers hands down, cheese fritters and the frozen lemonade.  Where did it go and can we please get it back

Riviera Water Slides and Club Fred

Amarillo had some great water slides. I love to hear some of my co-workers talk about the Riviera Water Slides that used to be at I-27 and Western. Or Club Fred that was located at I-27 and Bell.

Pancho's

Pancho's was the greatest little mexican food restaurant.  Want another enchilada, just raise the flag and someone would come and bring you the enchilada.

Best Department Store

I loved shopping at Best.  It was a great store.  It has a little big of everything.  I remember getting my first duffle bag there and I still have it to this day.  It was my favorite bag.

Krispy Kreme

There was just something about a Krispy Kreme donut.  Their location was bad and they left as quick as they came into town.

Sad Monkey Railroad

This isn't exactly Amarillo, but as I kid I would look forward to going down to Palo Duro Canyon and riding the Sad Monkey railroad.  It was the highlight of the trip.  Now days you can see the train in the front yard of one of the houses going down to the Canyon.

The Go Kart Track on the Canyon E-Way

I know we have some go Kart tracks now but there was something fun about that yellow building and zooming around that track.  I have some great memories of racing all my friends.

Cattle Call

What can I say, Cattle Call in its hey day had the best BBQ.  The best toast and those apricots were heaven in a little paper cup.   Not to mention the coleslaw.  I hate coleslaw but theirs was the best.  I really do miss Cattle Call, nothing has
