The Guardians and the Avengers Aren’t Going to Become Friends Overnight in ‘Avengers: Infinity War’
Thanos finally getting some real screen time in Avengers: Infinity War as the ultimate big bad is pretty exciting, but possibly even more exciting is the fact that we’ll also get to see our two favorite Marvel superhero teams come face-to-face for the first time. Until now, there hasn’t been any connective tissue to bridge the gap between the Avengers and the Guardians of the Galaxy, but a foe like Thanos needs more than one group of heroes to take him down. But while these heroes are incredibly powerful, don’t expect them to buddy up with each other right off the bat.
Amazon Prime Instant Video and TV Releases for May Announced
Amazon released their list of what to look forward to streaming on their instant video service next month, and May has some absolute winners. Not only did the site nab Oscar nominee Manchester by the Sea, they’ll also have available to stream last year’s Best Picture winner Moonlight, their new Original Series Dino Dana and I Love Dick, and a ton of classic James Bond movies.
Princes Harry and William Totally Didn’t Film ‘The Last Jedi’ Cameos, Nuh-Uh, No Way
Let’s be real, most celebs would kill for a chance to get into a Star Wars movie, even if it’s just a cameo. As we all know, Rian Johnson and the crew shot the bulk of The Last Jedi in Pinewood Studios, which is in Britain, which is where the Royal Family lives. Last year some rumors flew that Princes Harry and William had filmed some Stormtrooper cameos during their visit to the set, and now that the movie is a little more than six months from opening, Johnson is being conspicuously cagey.
The ‘Alien: Covenant’ Crew Send Their Regards in Creepy Found-Footage Videos
It wouldn’t be a Ridley Scott movie without a well-timed, ominous viral campaign. Much like the series of short videos starring the crew of The Martian on their space station, Alien: Covenant has come out with two transmissions from the people on that particular doomed ship, intercut with some creepy found footage of their expedition onto a new planet. We all know that no matter how good the intentions of the Covenant crew are, it’s all going to go terribly, terribly wrong, thanks to our Xenomorph friend.
Ryan Reynolds Weighs in on Josh Brolin’s Cable Casting With What We’ve All Been Thinking
There was a ton of speculation about who would be playing the much-hyped Cable in Deadpool 2, and as of today, we finally know it’s Josh Brolin. And while that’s fantastic news, it’s also a little confusing for those of us who have been following the whole Avengers: Infinity War saga: Josh Brolin is also playing Thanos in the upcoming Avengers movies.
Michael Bay Says ‘Bumblebee’ Is a Prequel, and It’ll Start Production This Year
Who is the best Transformer? Correct, it’s Bumblebee. The trusty little Camaro who communicates half in speech and half with the assistance of sound bites from his radio is getting his own spinoff, and Paramount is looking at a release date sometime in 2018. Michael Bay, who is now in the process of choosing which Transformers story to do next, recently revealed that Bumblebee is going to be a prequel.
Brush Up on Your Na’vi: ‘Avatar 2’ Will Begin Shooting This Fall

Yep, you read that right, the on-again-off-again sequel(s) project will finally start coming to fruition, provided international calamity doesn’t strike our shores in the coming months.
‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’ Spot: The Hits Keep Coming
The Guardians of the Galaxy are heroes, but that doesn’t mean the rest of the galaxy isn‘t out to get them. Like, all the time. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 sees our favorite spacefaring miscreants go up against an evil golden woman, Peter Quill’s former allies the ravagers, and a giant tentacle beast, amongst probably a host of other things. As the new TV spot says: the hits keep coming.
Johnny Depp Is ‘King of the Jungle’ in a Film About the Crazy Story of John McAfee
There are good celebrity profiles, and then there are the ones that merit their own movies. In 2012, former antivirus software magnate John McAfee took Wired reporter Joshua Davis on a weird, darkly hilarious trip around his Belize compound while he was a person of interest in the Belizean investigation of an American expatriate’s murder. Who else could play him in a movie but certified weirdo Johnny Depp?
Michael Bay Might Direct a Movie About Hunting Down Mexican Drug Lord El Chapo
Now that he’s finished with Transformers, Michael Bay is in search of his next project, which may come in the form of a movie about elusive drug kingpin El Chapo. Sony Pictures has finally obtained the film rights to the book Hunting El Chapo: The Thrilling Inside Story of the American lawman Who Captured the World’s Most-Wanted Drug Lord, and Michael Bay is on their potential list of directors.
Vin Diesel Says ‘The Fate of the Furious’ Is Going to Launch a New Trilogy
With the eighth on the way and two more planned sequels after that, it seems like the Fast & Furious franchise will never end. And you know what, if Vin Diesel, The Rock, and Jason Statham want to keep making movies where the good guys win by driving quickly and angrily, more power to them! Diesel himself revealed during CinemaCon on Wednesday, after an emotional tribute to the late Paul Walker, that The Fate of the Furious is the first in a new trilogy of films.
‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ Sequel May Be Spidey’s Last Appearance in the MCU
The deal between Marvel and Sony that allowed Peter Parker to join up with the Avengers is actually kind of extraordinary. More often than not — all the time, really — studios jealously hold tight to their superhero properties, often, as with Fantastic Four, making movies just so they can keep the rights. But Spider-Man allowed two studios to co-parent a character, allowing Spidey and other Avengers to ping-pong between movie universes, appearing in both. That deal seems like it may be up in the air after whatever follows Spider-Man: Homecoming.
