It's rare that "original lineups" make it all the way through a band's tenure, and Butcher Babies have just made their first lineup change, making the split with drummer Chris Warner official and welcoming Chase Brickenden into the group.

Keen-eyed fans started to notice the switch last year, with Brickenden sitting in behind the kit during the band's touring with Megadeth and their performances at the Knotfest events in the U.S. and Japan. Though Warner reportedly exited the band last year, the group waited to make the lineup change announcement until now.

Butcher Babies welcomed Brickenden with a social media post that reads, "Let's all give a BUTCHER welcome to our new drummer @chasethedrums! You may have seen him with us last year on tour with Megadeth, Knotfest USA and Knotfest Japan. He's a beast and we couldn't be more excited to what he brings to the band. After writing this entire new album with us, he is currently tracking drums to make your faces melt. Formerly, he has slayed the drums for Thrown Into Exile, Otep, and more. Chase is a multistyle drummer that graduated from Musicians Institute and we feel ultra lucky to have him!"

They continue, "This is our first line up change EVER. After 7 years with Chris, we want to wish him a happy new marriage and success in all that he does. CHEERS!!!! #butcherbabies." See the post, which includes a number of photos, below:

As for what Warner's plans are now that he's out of Butcher Babies, the musician did recently get married. He's also listed on his Instagram account as being a touring drummer for Eve to Adam.

Meanwhile, Butcher Babies are moving forward on new music with Brickenden behind the kit. The band recently posted that they had finished pre-production on their next studio album and they've started tracking the disc. There is no timetable as of yet for the album's release, but you can check out the post which has a variety of placeholder song titles below.
