All eyes have been on the Eddie Ray Routh trial and last night a verdict was handed down.

Two years ago, the former marine went to a shooting range with 'American Sniper' author Chris Kyle and friend Chad Littlefield.  After the killings, he called and confessed to family members who then called authorities.  Routh then led police on a chase before he was apprehended.

While prosecutors argued that Routh was a drug user and new right from wrong, the defense argued that he was not legally sane.  His lawyers also told the jury that he was prescribed anti-psychotic medicines.  They even told jurors that Kyle sent a series of text messages that called Routh, "straight-up nuts."

According to Pro News 7, the state did not seek the death penalty, so Routh will automatically get a life sentence without the possibility of parole.
