Five Finger Death Punch’s Jeremy Spencer to Appear in Horror Movie ‘Murder Hill’
Five Finger Death Punch drummer Jeremy Spencer has appeared in numerous music videos and DVDs in his time in the band, and is now headed to the silver screen. Spencer will make his movie debut in the upcoming film Murder Hill.
Anna and Mark Casadei wrote and produced the movie, and in a post on their production company’s site, they reveal that they are huge Five Finger Death Punch fans and cast Spencer. Mark says, “I got to admit, I had a fanboy moment! I have always admired his skill on a drum set, and his persona on stage is pure amazing to watch.” He says Anna wrote most of the script while listening to FFDP albums.
Anna says Spencer’s character mirrors his onstage persona: “If you know his music, his style of playing, and his stage presence, you get a feel how that will relate onscreen.”
The movie stars Tom Proctor (Guardians of the Galaxy, The Birth of a Nation), Marilyn Ghigliotti (Clerks) and Basil Hoffman (Ordinary People, My Favorite Year). The plot is loosely based on different murders that have taken place in Rome, N.Y. since the ’70s.
Spencer says, “I was hooked on horror since I was six when I walked in on my parents watching The Exorcist, just as Regan’s head was swiveling. I’ve been hooked from that point on. This is going to be a lot of fun, and I know our Five Finger Death Punch fans will dig it!”
Murder Hill is set to be released sometime this year. We’ll let you know when we have more details.
