The world was brought to a standstill late Sunday evening when President Barack Obama confirmed that terrorist leader Osama bin Laden had been killed by U.S. operatives in Pakistan.

Americans quickly gathered to celebrate outside the White House, and before you knew it, New Yorkers were gathering in Times Square and at Ground Zero, as well.

We adopted our new puppy and Buster is a great addition to our family! We got the cutest little guy in the world! Check him out and let me know what you think!
We have been wanting get a puppy for a long time now. We were going to get a toy dog but found them to be more than $300 dollars! Although we wanted one very much, we could not afford one of these little guys, so we kept our eye out for the last several months. We looked on Craigslist and in the classified at amarillo.com and still couldn’t find a puppy that we could afford. A few months ago we went out to the Amarillo Humane Society and looked but did not see any puppies out there, so yet again we decided to keep our eye out and see if we could find one some place else. After waiting and waiting, we kind of just stopped looking and hoped to be able to afford to get one of the “pure breed” puppies that we had been looking at. After stopping our search, my wife’s sister calls and tells us that they have some puppies out at the Amarillo Humane Society. We went out there and walked through looking at all the puppies and in the very last stall, WE FOUND HIM! He is the cutest little Akita (though I’m sure he is a mix) puppy who was just sleeping in his stall and they extended his time there so we could get him, otherwise he was going to be put down. We took him to PetCo and got him a collar, leash and some tiny squeeky tennis balls to play with. When we got him home we found out that he was COVERED with ticks (which I can not stand), so we began pulling them off. We bathed him and pulled of almost 100 of these nasty little guys! Now he seems to be a lot happier and he is running around the house chewing on everything from socks to our kitty cat. Now comes the vet appointment tomorrow for his shots and to get neutered. Poor little guy!

Earlier this month, Playboy hosted its annual Playboy Golf Finals in Southern California, a weekend-long event that included everything from a St. Patty’s Day Tee Party to a very sexy Lingerie & Pajama Party at the Playboy Mansion.

Some of the biggest names in sports and Hollywood came out to celebrate. On the guest list were ‘Office’ co-star Craig Robinson, Terence Newman of the Dallas Cowboys, Josh Cribbs of the Cleveland Browns and AJ Buckley of ‘CSI: New York,’ among others.

Naturally, Hugh Hefner was also in attendance, with fiancé Crystal Harris.

Thousands of revelers turned out for Mardi Gras celebrations in New Orleans on Monday and Tuesday, including celebrities like recent Oscar-winner Melissa Leo, actress Jennifer Coolidge, and creator of “The Wire” and the NOLA-set “Treme” David Simon.

Adrianne Palicki, an actress most famous for her role as Tyra on “Friday Night Lights,” will portray comic book heroine Wonder Woman in a pilot being shot for NBC.

In the reboot, Wonder Woman will be a high-powered business executive, as well as a crime fighter.

Palicki, who says she is a comic book fan, stands 5’11, so she at least has the physical stature to fill the iconic role. Check out some images of the statuesque actress.

Every Valentine’s Day for the last 20 years, Loveland Ski Area has held its Marry Me & Ski For Free Mountaintop Matrimony event, in which couples can get married at 12,000 feet. If you are a Maroon 5 fan then you’re in luck! They have been named the Critics’ Choice Movie Awards “House Band” for the Show!

Maroon 5 are known for their talent, charm and pop-rock-flavored hit songs. And it’s just those qualities that will be showcased when the group serves as the evening house band for the 16th Critics’ Choice Movie Awards. During the ceremony, which airs live on VH1 on Friday, January 14, at 9 p.m. ET/PT, the band, the band will perform classic tunes and their own hit songs between awards and during commercial breaks.

According to a press release, the group will also treat guests and attendees to numbers when they perform in the middle of the red carpet during the live pre-show and official after-party festivities. This marks a first for the awards show’s house band.

This promises to be a great awards show and with Maroon 5 as the “House Band”, it will definitely have some great music to go along with all of the other talent.

I never thought I would be talking like an old fart. But, those really were the days. When music rocked and bands actually seemed to play music. Don’t get me wrong, I like to get down to some Drowning Pool and TOOL these days, but the good ol’ fashioned depressing grunge just made my day. Maybe it was the Smashing Pumpkins concert I went to in the 90′s that really struck a chord with me, but since then I have always thought these guys rocked. I generalize the 90′s because like lot’s of people in that time period, it seems to be a bit of a blur. Regardless, anytime I hear Today, Cherub Rock, Bullet with Butterfly Wings and countless others; I’m instantly transported back to that concert in Lubbock, Texas.
