The Seattle Police Department released two more new photos from the scene of Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain's suicide. These are the first of the newly released photos to show closeups of the deceased Cobain, though there have been previous shots taken from further away.

One photo shows a brown paper bag containing a box of shotgun shells next to Cobain's Converse-clad left foot. The other new photo shows his left arm, still wearing a hospital bracelet. The picture is close enough that his small K Records tattoo is clearly visible. You can see them below.

The Seattle Police Department, citing the overwhelming demands from the public, reviewed the investigation into Cobain's death. A spokesman said that, after examining the case file again, including newly discovered photos from the suicide scene, a Seattle detective saw no evidence that would warrant re-opening the investigation.

After that announcement, the Seattle Police Department has been releasing the photos a few at a time. All of this news has been leading up to the 20th anniversary of Cobain's suicide on April 5.

The anniversary of this tragedy has brought Cobain's suicide back into the public eye. Cobain's wife, Courtney Love, recently talked about the possibility of some new Kurt-based projects, including a documentary, a biopic and even a musical.
