The NBA world is still mourning the death of beloved sportscaster Craig Sager who passed away after a long battle with leukemia. Tributes from athletes and rappers have been pouring in. On Friday (Dec. 16), Lil Wayne went on his Instagram account to remember a man that he’s never met, but admired from afar.

In the emotional video above, Weezy says "Sir, rest in peace. You'll be gone but never forgotten. And you will be missed, enormously missed by a nation of people from afar, from those who didn't get a chance to meet you, and number one, by your family, who my prayers go to."

"I never got the chance to meet you, unfortunately, and it's something that I wish I was able to do," he continued. "But again, from over here, from afar, you was always admired, you was always loved, and everything you ever worn was always number one in my book."

Wayne then revealed something that hasn't happened to him in a long time. "Today I actually got a little choked up, he said, adding, "It showed me how strong respect can be. For someone I've never met."

Sager, who was famous for wearing colorful suits on the sidelines, was indeed a respected reporter in the world of sports. Several b-ballers and rappers paid tribute to him upon hearing the news of his death. "The NBA family lost a legend, who changed the way sideline reporters did their job. RIP Craig Sager," tweeted Lakers legend Earvin "Magic" Johnson. "RIP to the suit gawd" tweeted rapper-singer Phonte Coleman.
