E3 2017 kicks off this weekend, and with it comes all the news, previews and details on what lies ahead for the next 12 months in video games. With that in mind, we've put together a collection of predictions for what we hope to see from Microsoft and the Xbox brand at this year's show.

We know a large part of this year's presentation from Microsoft will focus on the upcoming Project Scorpio console update, but there are still plenty of things we don't know about the company's plans for the Xbox brand. Sure we're due for updates to game franchises like Forza Motorsport, Halo, Crackdown and more, but Microsoft has got to bring more unique exclusives to the fold in an effort to keep up with Sony and Nintendo.

There's also the matter of virtual reality and/or augmented reality. A few years back, Microsoft teased its AR tech, HoloLens, but there's been little in the way of a retail product along those lines. Though Microsoft has partnered with Oculus for support elsewhere, there's been little to indicate that kind of VR tech is a focus for the Xbox brand. Perhaps this is the year we get to see how the Xbox One intends on keeping pace with the PlayStation 4 in that regard.

With just about a week to go until E3 2017 begins, we won't have long to wait and find out what Microsoft has in store. For now though, all we can do is hope the things we're wishing for make a showing.
