The outdoor musical has been a summer sensation for over 50 years.

Every summer, thousands of people line up at the gates of Palo Duro Canyon to see TEXAS. People from as close as Canyon and far away as Thailand travel to see TEXAS. The show takes place at the Pioneer Amphitheater, located at the bottom of the canyon, against a background of colorful cliffs and open skies.

Although TEXAS is completely fictional, it is based on the history of settlers in the Texas Panhandle in the 1800's. But it is hard to believe that there wasn't that much singing and dancing back then.

And when the weather cooperates, there's a huge grand finale at the end of every show... but we're not giving anything away!

The musical opens on Friday, June 3rd, at 8:30 p.m. It will run every Tuesday-Sunday at the same time every night. Tickets are $30.95 adults/$26.95 children for the center section. The sections farther out from the stage offer lower prices.

You can also purchase a pre-show chuck wagon meal, including a drink and dessert, for $16 adults/$9 children
