There has been a lot of talk about The Slug Bug Ranch. The bugs located on I-40 near Conway were dug up not that long ago. They were going to move. The plans have changed a few times. Nobody wanted to see this project just disappear.

They needed a new location. Just like the famous Cadillac Ranch here in Amarillo, we needed the Slug Bug Ranch to continue. Oh, and in a big way, it is going to. Yes, you can drive West of town and visit the Cadillac Ranch. Now in a fitting move, you won't have to travel far to enjoy the Slug Bug Ranch. Nope, not at all.

The Slug Bug Ranch outside of Conway is now going to make its final stop here in Amarillo. They are going to be planted in a well-known spot. We can thank the folks at The Big Texan for this.

It makes so much sense and am surprised it took this long for this decision to be made but The Big Texan RV Ranch - 1414 Sunrise Drive will be the location. The Slug Bug Ranch will find its home near Starlight Ranch. What a fitting place.

According to Blanca Schaffer, a member of the Bug Ranch Association:

We're thrilled to announce that we're going to be part of a historic moment in Amarillo as we, The Bug Ranch Association, bring the Bug Ranch to its new home right in front of the Big Texan RV Ranch! This is not just a relocation; it's Amarillo's history in the making, and we want you to join us on this incredible journey.
Huge thanks to Mrs. Crutchfield for sharing the fascinating history of the bugs with us. And a special shoutout to Bobby Lee for having the vision and determination to see what can be done to save these awesome bugs.
Get ready, Amarillo! We're about to make waves, preserve history, and create something truly special together. Stay tuned for more updates and let's make Bug Ranch at Big Texan RV Ranch an iconic destination!

There will be so many more visitors to this great display. It just makes sense. We have Cadillac Ranch on one side of town. Now we will have the Slug Bug Ranch on the other side of town. This is a perfect fit for Amarillo.
