Earlier today (Dec. 3), U2 made the much-anticipated announcement of their plans to tour the U.S. and U.K. in 2015. The ‘Innocence + Experience’ tour will take them to 19 cities next year, with multiple shows in each city. (Get details on the tour here.)

It’s a seemingly harmless announcement, right?

Wrong.

As bizarre as the cover of U2's latest record, ‘Songs of Innocence,’ is (and it's really bizarre), our minds are positively boggled by the official promotional photo for the new tour (that's it at the top of this story). All four members are laying in bed, each with their own befuddled look, and all doing a pretty good job of sharing the covers.

About the tour, Arthur Fogel, president of Global Touring and chairman of Global Music, says, “The anticipation for a U2 tour is always extraordinary, as it should be. Following the record-setting 360-degree tour, I’m amazed theta they still want to be ground-breaking, this time on a more intimate scale.” The photo is obviously a nod to that 'intimacy.'

What do you think about the shot of U2? Will it go down as one of the weirdest band photos of all time, or do you find it endearing? Let us know in the comments section below!
