Update: WFAA reported that after a thorough search of the parking garage, where the Dallas Police Department believed an armed man was present, no threats were found.

News outlets were reporting that the Dallas Police Department headquarters were on lockdown on Saturday after a threat was made, but that was incorrect. However, the SWAT team did search the HQ parking garage for a suspicious person.

The Dallas PD asked all news media outlets to cease live feeds of the parking garage search out of concern for the safety of all police officers involved. They were also struggling to complete the search because of the mass of reporters.

According to Dallas PD, other news sources were reporting that shots had been fired. That was untrue.

After a thorough investigation, the suspicious person report was cleared and the parking garage marked as safe.

Thanks to the Dallas Police Department for keeping us updated, especially when there were so many stories coming from other media sources.
